About Us

Krishna-Godavari Basin (KG Basin), located on the east coast of Andhra Pradesh, is one of the most promising areas for exploration and production for its oil and natural gas. It is projected to be one of the largest Oil/ Gas fields in the world. Government of Andhra Pradesh has the aspiration to bring up economical growth in the State fastidiously by spreading the State wide Gas Grid for industrial, transport, commercial and domestic sectors and thereby encouraging major indigenous and global players of the Industry. APGIC is an instrument to fulfill this dream of Government of Andhra Pradesh.

As a special purpose vehicle, APGIC as a magnificent thruster made its entry in to upstream, midstream and downstream activities for utilization of abundant Natural Gas available in the East Coast.

APGIC, from the day of its inception on 2nd Sep 2009 through its fabulous endeavour formed consortium with Oil and Gas Majors like ONGC, BG, OIL, and NTPC, bagged three numbers of Shallow water and one number of deep water blocks in KG basin through global bidding of NELP VIII.

While continuing its zeal, APGIC, retained Mecon Limited, Delhi as its Project Management Consultant to roll out state wide Natural Gas Pipeline Grid and City Gas Distribution.

For taking these activities forward APGDC ( Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corporation Limited )was incorporated initially as a whole subsidiary of APGIC. Subsequently, as per the Orders of State Government, the APGIC has off-loaded 50% equity in APGDC to GAIL Gas Limited, heading for dexterous industrial and domestic growth of sectors in the state.

APGIC is on the verge of forming another company APGTC ( Andhra Pradesh Gas Trading Company ) for Gas Trading / Marketing.
